Cream: Disraeli Gears 1967 | Meet Me in the Bottom 1966 | Tales of Brave Ulysses 1967 | The Fool Gibson SG | Videos & Live 1966-68 | Wheels of Fire 1968 |

Cream was one of the greatest rock bands of the late 1960s. Comprising Jack Bruce on bass, harmonica, piano and vocals, Ginger Baker on drums and percussion, and Eric Clapton on guitar and vocals, it only existed for an approximate two year period between July 1966 and April 1968, though achieved much during that time. It recorded four LPs: Fresh Cream (1966), Disraeli Gears (1967), Wheels of Fire (1968) and Goodbye Cream (1969) along with various singles and compilations. In between there were live gigs, interviews on radio, TV and for the print media, and occasional appearances on TV and in film. Some of the latter are included below, where available.

* 29 May 1967 - Tulip Bulb Auction Hall [audio], Spalding, Lincolnshire, YouTube, duration: 39.47 minutes. The great thing about this audio is the boisterous audience and the guitar and drum, as you can barely hear the vocals of Jack or Eric, or Jack's bass. The early version of Sunshine is very rough. The power and drive of Ginger's drumming also stands out. Eric is still refining his guitar work in regard to making his solos flow within the context of individual songs and introducing a lot of dirty SG / Marshall amp sounds, plus of course use of the wah wah pedal. It is still reminiscence of his work with Myall and blues-based. It is only when his playing becomes more psychedelic - most likely through the use of LSD during this period, and influence of other guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix - that the guitar work greatly improves. There is a lot of aggressive chord work in this gig, like some early punk band. By the end of 1967 Cream had become truly heavy.
