Yardbirds - Videos & LIVE 1963-68

The Yardbirds were one of the greatest live rock and pop bands of the 1960s. Their mix of pop and rhythm and blue songs allowed for development of an unprecedented live performance reputation, especially in the United States during the period when Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page were leading the guitar attack, from the end of 1965 through to the middle of 1968. This followed on the relatively brief 15 month Eric Clapton period during 1963-5 limited to British performances, apart from a single Swiss residency during August 1964. A number of documentaries and Sixties music retrospectives have discussed the band's career, either singularly or in context. One of the former is 1995's My Generation - The Yardbirds, a 30 minute presentation by Granda TV for its Without Walls series. That program includes extracts from numerous contemporary clips of the band, many of which are available in full on open access streaming services such as YouTube and Vimeo.

My Generation - The Yardbirds from Len Brown on Vimeo. Duration: 25.05 minutes. Granada TV, Channel Four, premiered 21 November 1995.

The following is a list of known and available videos and other film of the original Yardbirds, both live and mimed, produced between their formation in May 1963 and disbandment in July 1968. It is arranged chronologically and features both live and mimed performances, in concert, out of doors and in television studios. All items are black and white, unless otherwise indicated. The quality of both the audio and visual elements varies. In addition, significant online live material without visuals is also included, as are known references to filmed events and television appearances. For a precise listing of events in the life of the band, including filmed sessions and concerts, refer the Chrome Oxide site.
